After a grumpy, wet, horrible day yesterday (when the highlight was going to Tesco's but at least Ipswich beat Cardiff away :)!!!) we had to make the effort to do something today !!! So even if it was cold and cloudy we set off for Hadleigh to do a circular walk to Kersey, parking by the Toppesfield bridge we set off just before lunch, camera in hand and rolls in the rucksack :) After taking some pics of the weir we headed up Constitution hill to Coram Farm over the A1071 Sudbury road and into Kersey, a lovely medieval village of timber framed houses and thatched roofs :) famous for it's 'Splash' (a ford in the middle of the street) We had our lunch by the ford before taking a path by The Bell pub still heading away from Hadleigh !!! It was a great path crossing open fields and woods, through farms and past isolated cottages. Made it back to the River Brett in Hadleigh and our van just before five. We were surprised at how nice Hadleigh was ,river walks and old buildings which I hadn't seen before considering I lived in the town for a while several years ago !!!
We finished the day at our friends Peter and Gill Cutts for tea and cake :)
So another top day out in the Suffolk countryside and can't wait for next weekend :)
